Christmas Gratitude

Writer's picture: Sensei Sensei

Onegaishimasu Parents and students, As we wrap up classes for 2020, I would like to start by saying a HUGE THANK YOU, to you, our wonderful Keiko families for everything you do to help make your dojo that special place in our community where parents and children can discover their unlimited potential. You are what makes Keiko Dojo special.

It goes without saying 2020 certainly has been a challenging year, and without a doubt we couldn’t have made it through with out you. Here's even more good news….You have shown what it truly means to be “Keiko” The lessons you have taught your child this year about never giving up, resilience, kindness, courage, and empathy will serve them for the rest of their lives. What you have done for your child’s development, and for yourselves is quite remarkable, and in direct line with the core values of Keiko Martial Arts.

Resilient is who we are…Mentally tough is who we are… Kind is who we are…Empathetic is who we are…..Respectful and Courteous is who we are…..Courageous is who we are! WHY??? Because we know these character traits are the core elements to being a Black Belt both inside and outside of the dojo and what it means to be "Keiko" In fact, come to think of it, Black belts really are forged from the inside out.

* With an extra special thanks to the Keiko TEAM; Sensei Dk, Senpai Tamara, Senpai Jamie, Senpai Julia, Senpai Ivano, Senpai Harry, Senpai Omar and Senpai Jon. You have all become exceptional mentors beyond what I could have ever dreamed of, and personify what it means to be “Keiko”. I am so proud of each of you.

Parents and students before I share my annual Christmas story I wanted to take a moment to inform everyone of some very exciting news about myself, Senpai Vivian, and your dojo we will be sharing soon. I have been working very hard on a special project this past year, which I am super excited to share with all of our wonderful Keiko Dojo families, and will be making a formal announcement in the days following Christmas.

Our time here is precious…. It reminds me of a saying....."Life isn’t measured in the breaths we take…but in the moments that take our breath away!”

With the deepest gratitude to you, our wonderful Keiko families.

Merry Christmas….looking forward to serving you and your family in 202, and seeing everyone back in the dojo soon.

Respectfully Sensei Chris and Your Keiko TEAM
